9th again this time 8:42:41

Small keyboard, excuse any mistakes.

9th again. As nice as consistency is...it is hard and it sucks at times.

9th with a better executed race this time. Sub-par swim, solid solo solo solo bike, good run trhough mile 23. 9th place behind 8 europeans or british colonials. Kona spot is doubtful, but fingers are crossed and I will go to the rolldown. 8th is the last $$ spot too to throw some salt in those wounds.

10:29ish in 2001. 8:42ish in 2009. I wish I could find an investment with that improvement...I might be able to retire...again!

Congrats on your race! Don't beat yourself up, how many of your competitors have a full time well paying job and are happily married? I note you have not been pleased with your swimming this year in races, maybe your wife could give you some pointers.

Also I know you are nutrient deprived but your improvement over 8 years is 17%, a little over 2% per year. CDs can get you that rate ;-)

Great job! Man I know the 9th part may be a bit hard to take, but dude it really looks like things are coming together for you and you've got some really great "take-aways" from the experience. There is a lot to be said for the kind of consistency you have in that it usually precedes huge leaps/breakthroughs. Just keep doing what you do. Man, I couldn't be happier for you... Congrats!
