Friday Randoms

This seems to be a theme...randoms. But, I'm about to head out and am one of the only one's left today. So, blog time. I haven't had much to say lately and usually the best way to say that is to not say that.

I stole this from a friend...why do they call them apartments if they are so close together? And this one too...why is it a building if it is already built?

This weather sucks. It was bone chilling cold earlier this week. It was crappy foggy all day yesterday, traffic was horrible. It is about 70 today and will be 70+ tomorrow. I'm all for 70 degrees, I just wish we could have some consistency. Maybe it was the weather yesterday, but people are stoopid during the holidays. I post it every year. I don't have any gripes yet this year, but I am sure I will.

The new job is good. I like water. Making sure people have safe water is a good thing. It is interesting to see the wide variety of requests that we get here at the State. By wide variety, I mean the obvious differences between someone who knows what they need to do to comply with the regs and someone who is just trying to make sure they comply. It's easy to feel a little bit sorry for mom-and-pop RV park who have to shell out several grand to comply with State/Fed regs. But, you also have to ask what they would be up against if one of their customers ended up sick from bad water...actually it would likely be more than just one. What then? I've kind of been on all sides of the regulatory thing. I co-oped at DOW...industry. I was a consultant at URS...helped and worked with industry. Now, I am on the inside. If there is one thing that I'd like to see or help with...it's making things 'easier' for those like mom-and-pop RV park. 'Easier' in the sense that they know what to do. We'll see how it goes.

I've also realized that there are a lot of neurotic/OCD people in this world. Maybe it's because I do work in an environmental department that there seem to be a lot of germophobes if that's a word. I'm not going to say that I'm not a little bit of a germaphobe, but you should see the precautions that people will take to not touch a door. And, then you can look at these same peoples hands and realize that they are probably a nail-biter. Those two just don't add up to me. The skin seems to be pretty good at warding things off...let it do its work.

We had a shrimp, broccoli, cauliflower, coconut, curry stir fry last night. It was excellent. Our CSA share of veggies has a fair amount of broccoli, cauliflower, and other winter greens in it. Real food, it doesn't get any better than that.

Well I said I stole them from a friend, who apparently stole them from another friend, who apparently stole them from Seinfeld, and who knows if they were his or some writers thoughts.

I think what Michael is trying to say, is that you are lame b/c you are having a conversation through a blog post.

Wait a minute... I think it just happened again.

BTW, you shouldn't complain about the weather in Austin, you could be living in Rochester, NY
