Hump Day Update

Urban Dictionary: hump day - Wednesday, or the hump of the week. The absolute BEST day of the week, the day of maximum hope that maybe, you might make it out of this week alive. A particularly good hump day can last you the rest of the week, and by Doomday morning (Monday) you survive by anticipating hump day. Nothing goes wrong on hump day.

Some of the above can be debatable, but for me I'm hoping it holds true. Anyway, after my weekend of training I was a little bit more than just tired. I felt sick. "John" became a good friend of mine. I don't know if it was dehydration, off balance electrolytes, some stomach bug, or all of the above, but it was a tough Sunday evening and Monday. It also made for a tough Tuesday morning run. I did manage 10 miles progressive run. I swam in the Quarry last night for a couple grand and helped out with the final Splash and Dash of the season. Not quite the Monday and Tuesday that I had in mind for this week, but sometimes regardless of what the schedule says, you need to make some adjustments.

Anyhoo, the swim this AM was challenging. It should not have been as challenging as it was. A couple of sets of descending 50s and a set of descending down to 1:05 interval 100s and I was again cooked. But, the good thing is that "John" and I have severed our recent closeness. A bike workout this evening, and that should be a wrap on today.

More later.
